Day 10 of the 21 Day Keto Challenge

Day 10 of the 21 Day Keto Challenge

As we edge closer to the halfway mark, it’s a good time to think about some of the complimentary health things we can do.

Keto on its own is great, but when you team it with other changes like fasting and exercise, you really propel your health to another level.

Some of us naturally fall into fasting, others think it’s absolutely crazy.

I’m sure we all know someone who insists they MUST eat as soon as they wake up, and have 3 full meals a day with snacks in between.

Well let me tell you something…

We don’t need to eat 3 meals a day and we certainly don’t need snacks in between.

I’ve shared this article from Science Magazine before, which is all about the latest studies on diet and health.

There are more studies being completed every day that are showing some pretty radical benefits of fasting.

I’ve been singing the praises of fasting for years, but usually get met with…

What do you mean you aren’t eating?
You haven’t eaten since YESTERDAY? You ate nothing for HOW many days?

These days, it’s becoming more mainstream to do 16:8 or 5:2 fasting, but when I say I’m doing one meal a day people still get a bit freaky.

Someone pointed out to me recently that there is probably good cause for the concern though – it sounds like disordered eating. We were all trained as teenagers to keep an eye out for anyone restricting what they were eating, refusing meals etc.

So I accept that it comes from a place of care, but am glad now I can start to throw a few benefits at them…

Let’s do a quick look at the benefits of fasting:

  • Reduces overall calories consumed (you can only eat so much in one sitting!)
  • Saves money and time and head space
  • Greatly improved insulin sensitivity
  • Cell regeneration and repair

And the best part?

It’s free.

In fact, you MAKE MONEY.

Now there’s a change I can get behind.

I go into more detail on the different types of fasting here, but there’s so much more talk about fasting than ever before.

I have a sneaking suspicion that certain food industries will come out with studies against it because we can’t all stop eating as much can we?

They would go broke…

And that is their 1 and only priority.

Not your health, happiness or longevity. Just the dollars.

So next time you don’t feel hungry, don’t eat.

It’s really as simple as that. Learn a bit about electrolytes and you are all set.

Love,
